I pleasantly discovered today that the strike is finally over because I am totally and utterly in love with this bag. Andy Warhol Tote by Loop Design

This bag got my attention last night and has yet to let it go. Bold and bright, the Loop Design Tote ($38) is canvas and has one of two images made famous by Andy Warhol screened on the front (the pink guns print being my favorite, emphasis on the pink part). Each of the bags comes with a set of three removable pins on the outside and cutesy coin purse on a chain on the inside. Last but not least, and perhaps the most interesting thing about these totes are the handles, which feature printed quotes from the artist himself. Very. Cool.

Isabella Fiore IKat Tote

It’s not everyday that a purse has the ability to scare the Bejesus out of me. As a matter of fact, it's so rare that when it happens, I find it necessary to highlight it here on Purseuing as a way of warning my readers not to make the same mistake of looking directly at it without applying some sort of protective eye equipment first. When I saw this bag today I literally jumped back in my seat, almost dropped my Powerbook and covered my eyes in fright. It kind of reminds me of that guy you see all the time on the internet and on TV that has like a gazillion piercing in his face and/or head and although you want (and need) to look away, you just can't seem to take your eyes off him. And who's behind the IKat Tote -- you guessed it -- Isabella Fiore. At $675, Neiman Marcus calls it a "Day Trippin'" style bag. I call it a mean, green, magic carpet riding purse machine. Puke.

I'm in the market for a new tote bag to carry to work. Now unfortunately, it can't be anything real expensive or overly-cherished because there’s a pretty good chance I'm going to ruin it within weeks anyway packing various "nurse-like things" around in it. I've had many Dickies bags in the past and seeing how they have never once failed me in terms of durability, price and style, I just can't see any reason not to indulge again. J. Crew sure knows the way to a girl's heart (and wallet I might add) with these new City Totes in an array of fabrics ranging from waxed canvas to lavish Italian vegetable-tanned leather. My personal favorite, the Saffron Tweed City Tote, comes in a textured wool stadium cloth that is very durable, yet gives off a delicate appearance due to its soft, saffron hue. I get so busy keeping up with all the latest big, expensive designer bags that I sometimes forget that some of my absolute favorite handbags come from places like Ann Taylor and the likes. If you will recall, Tory Burch (of Tory by TRB) and I had a serious disagreement on the inclusion of rabbit fur in her handbag designs a few months back. Well, due to the fact that she is responsible for creating this absolutely lovely tote, I've decided to forgive her. The Medium Printed Canvas Tote has a patent leather logo and trim and two outside pockets. The brown/pink/ivory color combo is my favorite, but there are also two other patterns that are equally as wonderful to choose from. Well folks, it doesn't get much more outrageous than this. Suede. Beads. And fur. Flashy, glitzy handbags are huge this season and Miu Miu's Cracked Leather Metal Tote demonstrates with ease the reasons why. The black leather bag comes complete with a shiny, studded flower pattern on its exterior and dual straps. The Italy made bag measures 12 x 14 x 3 inches and sells for $545 at Saks. If a smaller purse is more your style, Miu Miu's Cracked Leather Metal Bag gives off the same "ass-kickin'" vibe as the larger tote but with a single strap and unfortunately steeper price at $590.

Crate & Barrel Metro Tote

Crate & Barrel is known for its hip furniture and housewares, but they also occasionally come out with bags that are equally as stylish. The colorful polyester Metro tote (available in fuchsia, olive, teal and ruby) offers ample room for tons of stuff at a cheap price -- only $20. As an added bonus, Crate & Barrel sells matching cosmetic bags ($6) and matching clip-on pockets ($5) for the tote. There's little more that makes us happier than matching bag accessories -- especially when they're this affordable.

Dooney & Bourke Wine Bottle Picnic Tote

As part of the beautiful leather Alto collection, Dooney & Bourke's Wine Bottle Picnic Tote comes equipped to hold two wine bottles, has a comfortable 20 inch strap and besides natural (shown), can be purchased in brown, black or red. While most of us have real lives and jobs, I sometimes imagine a place where people exist only to plan picnics and drink wine all day. This would be perfect for that very population, however, is pretty useless to the rest of us. Nevertheless, the Dooney Wine Tote is still damn sexy for $245.

Anne Klein New York Tote

The New York Tote from Anne Klein makes for a very smart and elegant weekend look in gold, croco-embossed leather. Featuring a zip closure and attractive logo charm, the frame bag has signature lining and a cell phone pocket on the inside and stands on four protective metal feet. Anne Klein's New York Tote also comes in black and sells for $240.

Guccissima Medium Tote by Gucci

As part of their new fall/winter Guccissima line, Gucci's Medium Tote in white is unique and stunning with double handles and a zip top closure. The bag features white Guccissima leather with white leather trim and very subtle, light gold hardware. For $930, the tote is finished off with Gucci's trademark plaque and measures a fairly large 14.2 x 3.1 x 8.7 inches. It also comes in black and chocolate leather as well as dark red suede with horsebit leather trim.

Tignanello Newport North South Tote (Botkier Rip Off)

I am not sure if this purse could possibly look any more like the Botkier Luxe Trigger bag if it tried with all its little heart. I guess I don't have a huge problem with companies "borrowing" a few ideas or a little inspiration from another company but this is pretty blatant. I guess if you can't afford the real one, (few can) but truly want to look like you can, this would probably be the one to go with. The Tignanello Newport North South Tote is available for $110.

Multi-Pocket Tote by Marc Jacobs

I'm a sucker for Marc Jacobs bags. Especially big, roomy, leather Marc Jacobs bags that are simply shaped and merlot red. The Multi-Pocket Tote has adjustable side buckles that change the size of the bag from smaller to larger, depending on your mood or preference. Also included are dual shoulder straps, front zip pockets and a cotton, canvas lining. The Italy-made Multi-Pocket Tote by Marc Jacobs is $328.

AE Off-Campus Tote

The very quirky Off-Campus Tote from American Eagle is an extraordinary and inexpensive way to end a short but wonderful week. The bag is fairly large at 15 x 13 inches and is made of cozy, soft fleece. With contrast-color stripes in navy, pink and white, the AE Off-Campus Tote features a light blue felt eagle sewn to the front and dual shoulder straps. Finding a $19 bag this cute is like finding you've lost a pant size. It's a rare and shocking occasion that deserves a celebration none the less.

Reversible Tote Bag from Sheila D

Over the weekend, I spoke with Sheila Djiwatampu, owner of the Sheila D design company and fell in love with her Reversible Tote Bags. Sheila, who once worked for Lego as a graphic designer, says "making bags started as a way for me to experiment with color and patterns and soon I was selling them to friends, and then to friends of friends, and so on". Made of corduroy on one side and cotton on the other, the reversible tote currently comes in 40 different color/pattern combinations and many more are soon to come. The shape of each handmade bag is very basic, emphasizing the unique style and character applied to each tote. Key West Keira Tote by Rafe New York

I'm well aware that in handbag land, the fall season has arrived. However, I'm not quite ready to move on just yet as the Key West Keira Tote by Rafe New York demonstrates well how bright summer colors and lightweight fabrics are still in-season and fun to wear. The bag features Rafe's signature print on Italian cotton canvas with leather trim and an exterior front flap pocket. Beautiful nickel hardware finishes off the tote that measures 12 x 4 x 8 inches. The Key West Keira Tote is on sale for $263 at Zappos.

Cole Haan's Megan Reversible Bucket Bag

Beautiful and practical, the Megan Reversible Bucket Bag is like having two purses in one. New from Cole Haan, the tote is made of nylon twill in a solid color on one side and cotton sateen material on the other with a vibrant, floral design. The bag features a large front pocket, convenient snap closure, and comes in turquoise, coral and black. Nordstrom is selling the Megan Reversible Bucket Bag from Cole Haan for $135.

Apple-Print Tote from Old Navy

Thank God there's something cheap to report on. Old Navy's Apple-Print Tote is colorful and charming in green and brown cotton. The rounded tote comes complete with a woven lining, inside pocket and two contrast canvas straps. Measuring 16 x 7 x 14 inches the Apple Print Tote from Old Navy sells for $16.50 and comes in purple apple as well as the green shown. So refreshing to see a cheapie!

Toga Tote from Ellington

While drooling over Ellington's exquisite leather bags, I came across a terrific (and cheap) tote that could come in very handy this summer. Made from lightweight brushed nylon, the Ellington Toga Tote features an unstructured design with a huge main compartment, two front pockets, and an interior zipper pocket for valuables. Like Ellington says, the tote would be perfect for a day at the beach. The $54 bag comes in Summer Blue, French Grey, Bamboo Yellow, Purple, and Kiwi. Since this is such a fun bag and won't be coming to formal dinners with me, I think I'll take the green guy.

Louis Vuitton Antigua Collection

Now available from Louis Vuitton is the new Antigua Collection, named after the Caribbean island known for its yacht races. Of the bags announced, the Cabas PM is particularly compelling with its sporty tote build and nautical flare. The Cabas PM features red cotton canvas with purple contrasting straps and customary golden hardware. A familiar "Louis Vuitton Inventeur" logo plate fronts the $500 tote while a leather luggage tag dangles from one of the straps. Also offered in the Antigua series are the Cabas MM and GM (both totes), as well as the Besace messenger. Many details about the Antigua line is standard LV style, yet so much seems new to me. A successful, summery launch as far as I'm concerned.

Boy Meets Girl Tote by Shop Intuition

Shop Intuition have made a name for themselves by being Hollywood's trendiest fashion boutique, selling hip apparel and accessories to many reputable celebrities. The Boy Meets Girl Tote has recently been seen on the arm of Terri Hatcher and looks absolutely fabulous. In canvas, the bag features ageless boy and girl silhouettes and allows you to customize it by submitting the names of you and your lover-boy to appear above each figure. Shop Intuition sells the Boy Meets Girl Tote for $27.

La Guitarra Tote from Gauchita

Gauchita, a husband and wife team based in Philadelphia, design and sell unique handbags inspired by their world-wide traveling experiences. As part of their Vocabulario series, they offer the adorable La Guitarra Tote in hot pink, which has a guitar in white (guitarra is guitar in Spanish, genius) and is lined in black. The fabric tote measures 12 x 12 inches and features a 26 inches strap for comfortable carrying. Handmade and hip, the La Guitarra sells for just $40. My love affair with totes just won't end. Maybe it's the warm weather, but there's just something great about tossing your favorite stuff in a big ol' tote and hitting the road. The Tumi Satchel Tote from the company's Cargo collection -- Tumi's best-selling women's collection -- comes in subtle Wheat (tan) or grape (purple), and in the fun Leaf Layer (shown) and Splash (similar, but blue). The bag features leather carry handles, an open top with center zip divider and numerous interior pockets. "This simple-yet-organized tote works well in almost any situation -- it can be casual or dressy, for business or pure pleasure," says Tumi's Amy Tucker. I couldn't agree more.

Jimmy Choo's Oxygen Mosaic Print Tote in blue canvas with chocolate brown leather trim shows off a very casual and fun side of the brand. The tote is pleated on the front and features stud fastenings on the sides of the leather ring handles. To help it stand on its own, a sturdy leather panel supports the bag while a beautiful light blue fabric lines the inside. Jimmy Choo's Oxygen Mosaic Print Tote sells for $415.

Jack Spade's Publicolor Tote was inspired by Publicolor, a non-profit organization started in 1996 that trains at-risk drop-out students the skill of commercial painting. "Publicolor's mission is to catalyze change in inner-city schools and neighborhood facilities through the power of color and collaboration". With the help of Publicolor, students are taught to boldly paint public places in order to revamp their community as well as their self-esteem.

The Publicolor Tote is constructed with tarp cloth and three-ply yarn and treated to repel stains. The bag comes in yellow, red, green and blue and mimics a traditional paint color chart with the lightest of the color starting at the bottom and the deepest at the top. All are equally cheap and cute.

Anthropologie absolutely amazes me. With their vintage taste and originality, I truly do love everything they sell. The Santa Margarita Bag has a large leather outside pocket with a D-ring strap and is made of cotton canvas. A batik scarf tied around the strap finishes the leaf green purse and gives it instant charm. Measuring 10 x 12 x 14 inches, the Santa Margarita sells for $278. I think I'll buy it and name him Oscar.

I have been so consumed with bright, flashy, complex handbags this season that I almost forgot how spectacular the simplicity of a conventional leather purse could be. The Large Leather Tote from Lauren Merkin reminds me that while its okay to have some extravagance in your life, you can't carry purple and yellow snakeskin with everything. Shown in nutmeg, the bag is made of Italian cowhide and also comes in white and black. The tote's gathered body keep it casual enough to wear with tennis shoes and a t-shirt while the structured shoulder straps and silver hardware dress it up quick for a more refined look. As mentioned before, exotic bags are in this spring. The Crocodile Tote from Nancy Gonzalez with its beautiful shape and springy, pastel colors nearly tops my list of favorites for this style of bag. The tote is fashioned with 100% crocodile leather and includes a pair of gorgeous top handles with tonal covered rings. Featuring side flap pockets and measuring 7 3/4 x 12 1/2 x 6 inches, the Columbia bag made will cost you $2375 at Neiman Marcus. I feel it also necessary to add that Nancy Gonzales was right on the money selecting two of the seasons hottest shades for this tote with pale yellow (shown) and baby blue.

Offered at Bloomingdales this spring is the Leather-trimmed Straw Tote. The bag features a magnetic bridge-type closure and has beautiful buckle detail. At $148, the straw tote comes in rose (shown) and tan. Measuring 16 x 9 x 8 inches, the purse is exclusively sold at Bloomingdales. The thing I like about this bag is its long double straps with a nine-inch drop. When a tote has straps this long, it makes is easy to carry over your shoulder yet doesn't look ridiculous carrying by hand. It's all about choices for me.

Following in the footsteps of Louis Vuitton and their Cerises Collection, Coach is now offering four cute spring bags with the new Ladybug Appliqué. Of the four bags, three of them are Soho Optic Signature purses in green with ladybugs and rhinestones appliquéd on the front. Included are the Small Crossbody Pocket Flap at $328, the Small Hobo at $228, and my favorite, the $328 Small Tote (shown right). Also available is the Boxy Tote, which is new and features the Ladybug Appliqué for $328. While I'll admit my disappointment that Coach sometimes seems to be one step behind Louis Vuitton, I will say that ladybugs are a little less freakish than those smiling cherries. Let us be thankful for that.

It's also available in other colors/slogans such as: Happy (white), Stuff (light green), Lucky (light blue), Sexy (black), Rich (fushia), Shopping (light green), and Love (Light pink). Now, this bag isn't something you would want to take out to a nice restaurant, but it might be just the thing to make you feel like a has-been pop queen. The tote is on sale now for $55. This adorable Canvas Trimmed Tote from LaRedoute made its way into Shop Etc. magazine this month. The heavy-duty canvas comes in the botanical print (shown) and also in kiwi, orange, and black. There are metal grommets all around the top of the bag so you can put the straps of the bag (both long and short straps included) where ever you wish. The printed version is trimmed in synthetic leather while the solid colors are trimmed in leather. The tote measures 17.5 x 7 x 15 inches and sells for just $30.

To me, there is nothing like a great tote. And I have a lot of stuff to carry around every day so no bag is too big. Luckily, Lacoste's Oversized Tote Bag measures 18.5 x 15.5 inches and as an added bonus, it's super cute! It's only fair to tell you that the bag comes in red, and army green, however, I can't imagine not buying it in blue (shown). With contrasting red and white striped handles the tote has a very sporty feel yet it's classy enough to carry anywhere. Cost is $150.

This unique, Italy-made shoulder bag from Miu Miu is crafted in beautiful, soft leather and lined in fabric. The Distressed Flower Tote is fashioned with a front zip pocket and silver circle hardware. Measuring 9 1/4 x 13 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches, the $655 bag, is shown to the right in brown. I love how this bag looks like it has been carried a few thousand times with its worn-out look. Very vintage yet chic.
