Lindsay Lohan has pricey bag stolen

Lindsay Lohan had a pretty bad day yesterday. She had her orange Hermès Birkin bag stolen at Heathrow Airport in London. Now ordinarily just losing a bag worth almost $10,000 would be bad enough, but she apparently had contents inside, including "a quantity of jewelry," valued at upwards of $1 million (!). Lindsay's rep, Leslie Sloane, says Lindsay is extremely upset about the loss. "She is begging for the return of the items," Sloane says. "She doesn't care how she gets them back, she just wants her stuff back." Yeah, good luck with that.

Update: Wow. A paparazzo helped locate Lindsay's bag, apparently with everything still inside. Lindsay's attorney said, "Lindsay wants to say a massive thank you to Mr. Paparazzi Darryn Lyons for handing back her bag to her today after his paparazzi film crew helped catch the thief and return her belongings. "She feels that maybe justice has been served, and karma may have played a role in the return of her bag today given that the paparazzi are usually a pest to her and today they have been a Godsend."

Chanel: Unfriendly Website, Ugly Bag

chanel.jpgBook of Joe, a popular blog that I regularly read, posted on Saturday about a Chanel bag that he saw in a New York Times article last week. While I don't completely agree with Joe's take on the bag in question as being the "most hideous bag of 2005", I do totally agree with his opinions on Chanel’s mess-of-a-website. Just the other day I found a bag I really wanted to highlight from the company, but after spending some 15 minutes trying to get around on their site, decided it wasn't worth the frustrations and moved on. So there you go. If you don't see a whole lot of Chanel around these parts, please refer to their wonderfully awful flash website. You're sure to find your answer there. Or if you’re like me and Joe, you won’t find anything you’re looking for at all and banish their URL from your browser for life out of sheer annoyance.

Oh and one more thing. It quite possibly might be the most hideous bag of 2005.

91 Year Old Ohio Woman Pummels Purse Snatcher

I normally wouldn't bother posting something like this but considering she was 91, and lives in Ohio (where I presently reside) I thought it worthy of mention. Apparently, a very elderly woman in Toledo, who wasn't wearing her hearing aid, misunderstood a purse-snatcher and thought he wanted to "take her pulse". When he repeated, she realized he was going to take her purse and this is when, according to the Associated Press, "the small woman with gray hair and glasses turned angry". Katherine Woodworth then proceeded to hit the assailant, scaring him enough that he aborted the heist and ran. Police later caught the idiot 20 year old, proving you should never come near a woman's purse (whether she's 21 or 91)... Unless you want the crap beat out of you.
